Every day we are bombarded with the news of this world. It comes at us from all sides – radio, TV, news and even conversations with friends. We hear of wars and acts of terror. We are constantly faced with the fears driven by the problems of our fallen world. Add onto this the daily struggle and issues of our lives. It is so easy to lose heart and hope as you are impacted by all of this on a daily basis.
However, there is one constant in all of this. That is our loving God. His promise and love is eternal and he knows of the trials we face in this world. His word is there to remind us that He is always with us and to have hope and encouragement.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. (Psalms 46 : 1-3)
We are never alone. It is difficult to hold onto this truth sometimes. To remember that we are not on this journey by ourselves. When in doubt turn to His word and take comfort. Take comfort in the truth that God is in control. We may toil during our time on this earth. However, there will come a time of peace when we are called home and our Lord returns. Until that time, lean on your heavenly Father and trust in his word.
Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.
The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our fortress (Psalm 46: 10-11)
